The Research 3-Card Monte
Great podcast by BBC's Inside Health about outcome switching which is a method of concealing unfavourable results from a clinical trial but could also have legitimate reasons. Listen to the episode to hear a terrific explanation about it.
The difference between legitimate outcome switching and foul play is whether the reasons for switching outcomes where explained and justify the change. If they are not (due to omission or commission) the trial might be ignored and be reduced to waste.
Piano is a game changer:
Piano is transparent so outcome switching and all other changes to a protocol are visible to all
Piano lets anyboydy copy the protocol and reproduce it on their own data with a few clicks
By doing this, a good protocol can be saved - resulting in more valuable evidence for everyone
